The aim of the program is to help young Russian curators acquire experience, share their knowledge and create networks whilst working in leading European cultural institutions. For the past seven years Russian curators have had experience of working with some of the most interesting and active European art. During and after the internships, curators develop their own independent curatorial projects, which are to be presented at the final event — "Battle of curators" in November 2019. The best project will be implemented with financial support from EUNIC — 4000 Euro. Visitors of the Battle will also have an opportunity to vote for an Audience award — 1000 Euro.

This year's theme for curatorial exchange is "Today's artistic practices are cultural heritage of tomorrow". By this topic we invite future residents to reflect on the future of today's practices whether they are material or digital. The focus of current cultural policies is often aimed at saving and archiving the heritage of the past. We propose to look in the opposite direction instead.

Since 1979, Ars Electronica has sought out interlinkages and congruities, causes and effects between art, technology and society. The Festival as proving ground, the Prix as competition honouring excellence, the Center as a year-'round setting for presentation & interaction, and the Futurelab as in-house R&D facility extend their feelers throughout the realms of science and research, art and technology. Our staff includes more than 250 employees from throughout the world, whose skills and dedication contribute daily to Ars Electronica's outstanding international reputation.

In Ars Electronica's division Festival-Prix-Exhibition you will be responsible for substantively developing and producing an exhibition, performative or discursive format in the framework
of our 2018 Ars Electronica Festival and also working together with artistic associates and partners institutions throughout Austria and abroad. In this position, you will be requested
to take over the main artist communication, organisational processes as well as location planning (architectural design, set up, technical & architectural demands,…) and act as a key communicator to the main festival structures (PR, editorial team, hospitality, financing, travel office).

Time: beginning of August – beginning of September 2019

Number of artists presented in the collection "Curios and Mirabillia" installed in the castle of Oiron under the artistic direction of Jean-Hubert Martin in 1993 deal with the question of ruin or archeology. The venue itself has been partially restored in the rules of art and partly consolidated by maintaining a time-related state of degradation that contributes today to this unique atmosphere.

From the very entrance of the monument the visitor, passer-by crosses the alley of Cyprien Gaillard made from a conglomerate resulting from the destruction of a tower of Issy les Moulineaux from where pieces of faience or concrete emanate among others. This snapshot of our construction / demolition practices leads us to consider the notion of heritage and what we will leave for future generations.

Today, artists make connections in the sense of what is described by Tim Ingold "Making: Archeology, Anthropology, Art and Architecture". And come through their current practices to propose, initiate question, questioning approaches and modes of reading by integrating societal issues. We would like to invite a commissioner to build a theoretical point of view by looking beyond the borders and implementing Tomorrow's legacy.

The castle of Oiron located in rural areas with this peculiar rhythm that leads to the slowdown. Would not it be a very nice place to drive the implementation of a future, and why not consider a precursory curatorial act?

Ateneum is Finland's best-known art museum and the home of Finnish art. The collections of the Finnish Art Society, founded in 1846, form the basis of Ateneum's operations. Today, these collections are a part of the national heritage of Finland. The guest stars of the temporary exhibitions have included names such as Tove Jansson, Pablo Picasso, Amedeo Modigliani and Helene Schjerfbeck. Ateneum is also home to events of all kinds: workshops, lectures, guided tours and clubs.

Ateneum Art Museum offers the young curator a possibility to work closely with museum's curatorial, coordination and communication teams with upcoming exhibitions. The main task will be to assist the chief curator and his team with Ateneum's upcoming exhibition projects with Russian museums (Tretyakov Gallery, The State Russian Museum). The Intern is suggested to actively promote one's own strengths and interests so that the Internship will be rewarding to both parties.

Time: 2 – 3 weeks between the 19th of August and the 31st of October 2019

Built in the 19th century in the style of a Tuscan villa, the museum in the former artist's residence of "painter prince" Franz von Lenbach stands in exciting relationship to the gold-glittering new building realised in 2013. It establishes its reputation as an internationally renowned museum on the world's largest collection of works by the artists' association "The Blue Rider". Among them is art by Franz Marc, Wassily Kandinsky, Gabriele Münter, August Macke, Paul Klee, Alexei Jawlensky and Marianne von Werefkin. Further focal points of the collection are the art after 1945, Joseph Beuys and the Munich School of the 19th century.

As part of the EUNIC scholarship, the museum offers the opportunity to actively participate in museum life for six to eight weeks and to support the curatorial team of the museum in the care of the collection, upcoming exhibition projects and events. For example, for the first time in over 70 years Alexej von Jawlensky's and Marianne von Werefkin's works will be shown together and explicitly as an artist couple in an exhibition, shedding light on the different phases of their artistic creation and mutual influence. A future exhibition project deals centrally with the theme of the artist groups.

For the own project, which is developed within the framework of the scholarship, the museum offers both its library and technical literature, as well as the exchange and support of the employees.

Time: some weeks during the period between July the 1st and October the 30th 2019

Rupert is a centre for Art and Education devoted to establishing close cooperation between artists, thinkers, researchers, and other cultural actors through interdisciplinary programs and residencies. A knowledge-based platform for innovative creative production, Rupert integrates with the social and cultural framework of the city of Vilnius while simultaneously supporting a strong international focus. Rupert's mission manifests in three distinct but closely-linked channels: first, the Educational Program offers 8–10 participants the chance to develop project ideas and make connections with professionals in the field through regular lectures and workshops.

Rupert offers a Residency Program in which the participants develop their individual projects, giving them the opportunity to immerse themselves in Vilnius. An unconventional Exhibition Program serves as the basis for a wide range of public programs and activities exploring art and its role in contemporary society. The gallery is conceived as a space of support for the educational program – a laboratory that will complement topics covered by workshops and lectures.

During the placement period, the intern will be working closely with Rupert team assisting them with the organisation and running Rupert's programmes. Each task includes administrative, organisational and curatorial research procedures and is completed together with other Rupert team members. Tasks related to the Residency Programme include working closely with Rupert residents on a daily basis, helping with their individual projects, editing their written text according to Rupert's style guide, helping to organise an open studio event. In the context of Exhibition and Public programmes the intern will be assisting Rupert curatorial team and coordinator in organising public events, this includes both curatorial, practical and communication tasks. During the placement period, the intern will be given a time to develop an independent project. The Intern gets all the possible administrative support from the team to implement the idea, practical tips, network and any other relevant information.

The Drents Museum is well known in the Netherlands and elsewhere for its large-scale international exhibitions in the fields of archaeology, art, and history. With a combination of a healthy dosage of courage, astounding stories, experience-oriented design, and strong market¬ing concepts we have succeeded in bringing more than a million visitors to Assen and Drenthe in the north of the Netherlands in the last five years. Our robust mission determines everything we do and exhibit: the Drents Museum displays a view of the world and offers the world a view of Drenthe. This element of storytelling and the creation the exhibition as an mind-blowing experience, is key in our mission to interpret heritage for a large audience and inspire young and old.

The Drents Museum is known for its major international exhibitions, such as The Terracotta Army of Xi'an (2008), Gold from Georgia (2010), The Soviet Myth (2013), The Dead Sea Scrolls (2013), The Maya – Rulers of the Rainforest (2016), Peredvizhniki (2016), and The American Dream - American Realism 1945-2017 (2018).

The young curator will participate in the exhibition project: Rulers of the Ararat – Treasures from Ancient Armenia that is scheduled for May-November 2020. He or she will assist the Archeology Curator in research and all other activities for the preparation of the exhibition. This exhibition on archeology from Armenia wants to present to the Dutch visitors the long and complex history of present day Armenia and to give them a good impression of the rich cultural heritage of this nation largely unknown to the Dutch audience.

Köttinspektionen is one of the most influential art institutions of Uppsala and the entire Uppland region. It has existed for only five years. The uniqueness of our art space lies in the fact that during the year contemporary art, experimental dance and theater replace each other in one space. It's become possible thanks to the creative architectural solution of the interior space. It's an industrial building of the twenties of the XXth century, built for the inspection of meat entering the city market. Köttinspektionen is translated as "Meat inspection".

During the year we organise 4 exhibitions, which are supervised by "haka" art group. The group consists of five artists Helena Laukkanen, Agnetta Forslund, Natasha Dahnberg, Katarina Sundkvist Zohari and Anna-Karin Brus. In addition to active individual exhibition activities, we've curated about 30 exhibitions over the past 15 years. Including the exhibition "Swedish family" in MMOMA as a part of the 3rd Moscow Biennale. We have been cooperating with Russian artists for many years. Taus Makhacheva, "PROVMYZA" group, Taisiya Korotkova and others exhibited in Köttinspektionen. In addition to exhibitions, we organise seminars, lectures and public discussions, work closely with Uppsala art Museum — one of the leading museums of contemporary art in Sweden. We also collaborate with curatorial program of Stockholm University and Department of art history of Uppsala University. Köttinspektionen is funded by municipal, regional and state grants and is an independent and non-profit art platform.

During the residency in Uppsala curator will be able to participate in the final stage of preparation and installation of two exhibitions. The first one is konstnärsdrivna Köttinspektionen — August the 19th – September the 8th, the second one will be in the art Museum of Uppsala on September the 15th – 28th. Thus, the resident will get acquainted with various forms and possibilities of work.
